Our First Community Litter Pick: A Great Start
Our Community Council crew and 3 volunteers - thank you everyone!
This weekend, Hutchesontown Community Council held its first ever litter pick, and it was a great success. Nine of us turned out, including three volunteers who kindly gave their time to help clean up the streets we all use every day.
It was genuinely rewarding to see the difference a few hours of teamwork can make. Litter affects how safe and cared-for the Gorbals feels, and it was great to see local people, including some who don't normally attend our meetings, pitching in to help.
Given how well it went, we've decided this will become a regular fixture. Keep an eye on this page and our meeting updates for details of the next one; we'd love to see even more of you there.
A big thank you to everyone who came along today. Small actions like this add up to a cleaner, more welcoming Hutchesontown for all of us.
More details on future litter picks to follow.
This was probably the most unexpected find Romane retrieved from the green space just south of Albert Bridge. Has it been lying there since TRNSMT?
A big thank you also to Matthew Algie, Lawmoor Street & New Gorbals Housing Association for the loan of the equipment we used.
